As a Metaphysician my views on life and death may be a little different from the generally accepted views of how long our lifespan should be and what equates to whether a person is perhaps ready to leave the ‘mortal coil’ shall we say for another experience. This is an area I believe of which we all need to have awareness

Quite recently in early February 2017 I was asked for my assistance by one of my Sound Therapy practitioners for the Mother of a friend of hers who was quite unwell. I made some recommendations and monitored the situation.

To provide some background history, lady was in hospital and quite unwell. Over the period of a few days her condition waxed and waned, the prognosis from her Doctor’s was not good, and they spoke about organ failure and more surgery.

A turn for the better, and a change from an Intensive or Critical care ward to a normal ward and the beginnings of a return to health, and then another downward spiral.

So let’s look at why the ‘swings and roundabouts’ were occurring in this instance.

There is an old  Hindu saying that I frequently share with my clients that gives a  good explanation for this;  they say ‘We must be careful how we love for on waves of love we most affect those we adore with our problems’

So in being concerned for someone we can actually have a negative effect upon them. This negative effect can indeed be profound with in many instances the ‘shutting down’ of some of the energetic fields of the body as well as creating phobias, anxieties, thought patterns and emotions which do  not belong to the recipient of the ‘concern’.

Now if we take that a step further and look at the situation of someone in hospital for example and the stresses and concerns of the often immediate family on behalf of the patient.

My friend and colleague had been informed that ‘the family’ had decided that it was better for their mother to ‘pass away’ as ‘if’ she recovered she would have some health issues and ‘they knew’ that she wouldn’t want to live like that.

Interestingly this ladies will to live is very strong, and yet may well be ‘overruled’ by concerned family members whose’ thoughts and beliefs can have a profound effect on the psyche of their loved one.

I commented in conversation with my friend and colleague that I had not ‘lost’ many clients over the years and yet in every instance the same or a similar situation had been the cause; family members who did not want their loved one to suffer so had the thought and the intention that ‘they would die quickly’.

As Holistic practitioners we can offer support to the ‘unwell’ person or client’ and yet literally have our hands tied when it comes to the thoughts and beliefs of others, and if we add in the prognosis of the medical profession to that conglomerate ‘mix’ we have some powerful situations indeed.

From my own perspective I have been given ‘numerous’ life sentences over the years beginning at age 3 when my parents were informed that I had a ‘cancer related’ illness and had one year to live. The fact that in 2017 I am approaching sixty seven years on this planet says a number of things including that ‘sometimes Doctors can get it wrong’ as well as my sheer bloody mindedness that I have work to do and a purpose for being here.
